Read 1 Samuel 3 completely.
Come OUT of Barrenness:
We always bring out from the well that which is within us.
The wife of Eli was Belial, meaning Worthlessness.
Her sons were worthless. Read 1 Samuel 2:22. And they
affected their father to become Worthless Ascension. Samuel has the root meaning:
"To hear from God" - Heard of God!
When we read his life story:-
He is the one who grows up in the Presence of God sleeping at the Ark.
There is Faith, Freedom and Favour on Samuel's life, whereas
with Eli, there is Fault, Failure, Fatigue and Family Frustration
. Under Eli, the boy has to emerge. There is a NEWness waiting to emerge if we
will position ourselves next to the ARK of the Holy Spirit's presence. Get out from
your Usual place. The Word is rare
and Visions are impossible when we stay in the usual place.
Look at the LAND:
It is a reflection of the Church. The Spiritual Condition of the Church
must determine the spiritual condition of the World.
P ride: Arrogance ... we take first - what's left
over we give to God.
P overty: We party with perversion. Our
priorities are drunkenness, pleasure and prestige.
P rejudice: We live with the Paralysis of
Analysis. Everyone is doing it. I'm OK!
The Word of the Lord was RARE, therefore the Revelation of
God will be Rare. What are we Preaching and what actions are taken after
hearing the Word of God. Eli rebuked his sons but never
implemented God's Word to Discipline and bring them in line. Not many VISIONS or No clear Revelation. We become blinded because we have
cast off restraint [Proverbs 29:18]. We no longer heed the impulses of the
Holy Spirit. Everyone does what seems right in his/her own eyes. Judges 17:6 - read
: When we have Vision we see what God wants in our lives. Eli in me must be dealt with
so that Samuel can emerge.
How did Samuel get to the ARK? :
Samuel was born out of Anguish, Bitterness, Barrenness,
Condemnation, Despondency and Envy. Out of Failure into Faith and
Commitment. He is on a Contract Covenant. 1 Samuel 1:11, "
Give me a son and I will give him to the Lord." Every Year he gets a Jacket to grow
into 1 Samuel 2:19 - Growing in grace is growing in Ministry. 1 Samuel 2:26 - In
favour with the Lord and with men.
What was his Value? :
None of his words Failed [1 Samuel 3:19.God wants to
empower our words. HE cannot have the Blindleading the Blind.
Luke 11:17 - A house divided against itself will fall.
It is time for the Blind sightless Eli house to die and the Prophetic Samuel
house to rise up. Live where the Presence of the Lord is. Live where the Lord speaks. Learn
to HEED and KEEP His Word.
John 14:23 - Obey and HE will stay.
